Directions to Porthiddy Farm West

This page gives directions to the farm from the M4 and Haverfordwest, Fishguard and St David’s. It is also possible to obtain directions from anywhere in the UK. Of course, you are more than welcome to contact us should you need any more travel advice.

From the M4 via Haverfordwest

  1. At the end of the M4 continue on the A48 to Carmarthen.
  2. At Carmarthen, bear left on to the A40 to St Clears.
  3. At the St Clears roundabout, take the second exit to continue on the A40 to Haverfordwest.
  4. As you approach the outskirts of Haverfordwest, you will come to a roundabout. Take the second exit and continue on the A40, following signs to Fishguard. After approximately nine to ten miles you will come to Letterston.
  5. At Letterston, there is a turning point for buses on the left and immediately after this is a turning signposted to Mathry. Turn left on to the B4331 towards Mathry.
  6. After about six miles you reach a major crossroads running from St David’s to Fishguard. Turn left on to the A487 in the direction of St David’s.
  7. After approximately three miles you come to the village of Croesgoch. As you enter the village, you will pass a Post Office on your right. Take the first turning on your right signposted to Porthgain.
  8. Before you come to Porthgain, you will meet some crossroads in the village of Llanrhian. Turn left here and, after a few hundred yards, take the first turning on your right signposted to Abereiddy. This lane goes down a hill, bears left and right, and then you will see some low stone cottages ahead of you. At this point the road takes a sharp turn to the left. Our farm is immediately after that, on the right, opposite a house called Noddfa.
  9. Pass the entrance to the farm and turn right at the end of the stone building into a gravelled yard, where you can park. The doors to our cottages are painted dark blue. The adjacent property is a pink cottage called Tŷ Martin, which belongs to our neighbour.

Notes

The National Assembly for Wales publishes live traffic information for the M4 between Bristol and Swansea on an interactive map. Motorists using the M4 from England are reminded of the toll on the westbound carriageway of the Severn Bridge. There is no toll-charge on your return journey to England.

Should you miss the turning for the cottages, you can’t go too far wrong as you will very quickly find yourself at the coast – in the car park at Abereiddy. At this point, we strongly recommend turning around.
